"Every good idea starts somewhere, usually in Nancy's head. She's always been a complex blend of unique talents and passionate conviction. This Rhône-style white blend offers a fun, yet complex and substantial wine. Sound like anyone you know?" - Jordan Kivelstadt, Wayward Son
Produced from the Baker Vineyard in Sonoma Valley. This 2 acre vineyard in Kenwood is flat providing even ripening throughout the rows. The large canopy provides a lot of shade during hot periods of the year and creates a naturally slow ripening and lower yields. The vineyard is organically farmed.
Varietals: 50% Marsanne & 50% Roussanne
Both grapes are pressed into the same tank and undergo natural fermentation. After a few days of homogenization, the wine was moved to neutral French oak barrels to complete primary and malolactic fermentation before a 6-month elevage sur lie. It is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Floral and citrus aromas on the nose lead to a powerful and heady attack. The weight balances beautifully with the acid on the finish.
